Oyster Boat Deckhand

Job description

Workers lift sacks of oysters by hand onto a conveyor belt.

Use hands to separate oysters by size and quality, removing damaged, undersized, dead, or undesirable
oysters. Use hatchet to open oysters and place meat in containers by size or quality.

A paint brush is used to paint boats. Rope is used to tie and repair dredges.

Cull oysters, wash boats, clean boats, paint boats, repair dredges, clean up workspace after unloading oysters.

Special Requirements

Lift or carry up to 110 pounds. Employer paid drug test is Post Employment, Upon Suspicion. New hires only - Employer paid post hire criminal background check required. No infectious diseases; seafood allergies may be fatal.
