Job description
Under the supervision of the mother, the Nanny will perform childcare duties for one 1-year-old child, with additional responsibility for a newborn upon the birth of a second child in October. The Nanny will change diapers and maintain proper hygiene routines, such as diaper changes every 2–3 hours, wiping and bathing the child, and ensuring clean clothing and safe sanitation practices. The Nanny will prepare and clean bottles, including mixing formula or handling expressed breast milk, sterilizing bottles, and properly storing feeding supplies. The Nanny will prepare age-appropriate meals and snacks for the child, such as soft fruits, vegetables, and finger foods suitable for a toddler, while ensuring safe feeding practices. The Nanny will plan and engage in daily developmental and recreational play activities to support cognitive, emotional, and physical development, such as reading storybooks, singing songs, practicing basic words and sounds, and supervising structured indoor and outdoor play. The Nanny will follow and maintain the child’s established daily schedule, including feeding, nap, and activity routines, such as morning wake-up, scheduled meals, afternoon naps, and bedtime routines. The Nanny will monitor the child’s safety and well-being at all times and provide attentive supervision in the home environment, including constant supervision during playtime and ensuring a safe living space free of hazards. The Nanny will assist with transportation of the child between Nashville and Gallatin as required by the family’s work schedule, including securing the child in an appropriate car seat and ensuring safe travel conditions.
Special Requirements
Valid CPR and First Aid Certification. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand holding a baby for an extended duration. Work will be performed from Sunday through Saturday, from 6:00 a.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 11:00 p.m., depending on household needs. The worker will have one and a half days off per week, depending on the household schedule, consisting of a half day on Friday and a full day on Saturday.
