Job description

Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops; Operating self-propelled equipment that reaps, harvests, threshes, swathes, or winnows crops; performing manual or mechanical adjustments to equipment; performing safety checks on equipment; maintaining and repairing equipment and other tools; transporting crops and transporting equipment and other tools used for harvesting from one field to another.  Set up, operate, and repair irrigation equipment; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Load agricultural products into trucks without over or underfilling bed or trailer, and drive to market or storage facilities; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Attach implements using hand tools. Attend to live farm, ranch animals that include cattle; Duties include feeding, watering, herding, grazing, castrating, branding, catching, and loading animals; Maintain records on animals; Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; Assist in birth deliveries; Administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate; Move livestock from one location to another; Clean and maintain animal housing areas; Provide mineral to cattle; Must speak and understand English.

Special Requirements

Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
