Job description
-Clean, wash, and disinfect swine barns, pens, livestock housing, equipment, tools, trailers, and work areas using pressure washers, foamers, sprayers, and other sanitation equipment.
-Remove manure, bedding, feed residue, trash, carcass-related debris, and other organic waste from livestock housing and surrounding farm areas.
-Apply approved disinfectants and sanitation products in accordance with established farm sanitation, biosecurity, and safety protocols.
Thoroughly clean and disinfect floors, walls, gates, feeders, waterers, ventilation systems, and other livestock housing components to prepare facilities for incoming production groups.
-Maintain strict biosecurity measures by cleaning and disinfecting entryways, transition areas, equipment, footwear sanitation stations, and vehicles to help reduce the spread of swine diseases.
-Inspect facilities following sanitation activities to verify cleanliness and biosecurity standards have been met and report maintenance or sanitation concerns to supervisors.
Special Requirements
The Seasonal Sanitation Worker needs to be able to carry and lift a minimum of 50lbs. Additionally, the worker must be in good health to perform activities; have no limitation to bend down or carry weight (under regulated laws or norms of weight and safety procedures), extensive pushing or pulling, extensive sitting or walking; and no limitation on being exposed to extreme temperatures.
