Job description
The employer is seeking reliable, hardworking individuals to assist with the harvest season (including pre and post-harvest). Drivers will pick up workers from employer-provided housing, take them to the worksites, and drive workers back to their housing. They must comply with all DOT safety requirements and maintain safe vehicle operation. Drivers will be responsible for conducting daily basic vehicle maintenance checks (DOT pre-trip inspections), vehicle inspections, and coordinating repairs. Duties may include maintaining transportation logs, mileage records, and other required documentation. They will spend about twenty-five percent of their workday doing driving duties. Other daily job duties include field walking, timekeeping, scanning, filling water jugs with drinking water for the workers each morning, and ensuring field sanitation and safety measures are properly maintained throughout the day. Duties may include harvesting activities and other general farm labor. They will take workers once a week to the grocery store and to the laundromat. Workers should follow safety and farm instructions. This job will be done under varying outdoor extreme weather conditions such as heat, direct sunlight, cold weather, possible rain, wind, and exposure to pollen. Repetitive physical conditions such as prolonged walking, standing, heavy bending, stooping, reaching and lifting will be involved on a regular basis. Must have or be able to obtain immediately a federal and state farm labor contractor license. Background check and random drug testing will be post-hire at employer's expense.
Special Requirements
Workers must be dependable and punctual and have the ability to stand, bend, and work for long periods outdoors. They must pay attention to detail and quality. Workers must adhere to all safety rules as instructed by supervisors and practice safety in all aspects of work.
