General Farm Worker

Job description

Employees will operate equipment such as tractors with implements to cut, rake, and bale forage for winter feed for livestock. They will need to transport the bales back to the ranch. Once the livestock is moved back to the ranch for the winter months, they will feed them by operating tractors with towed feeder wagons with electronic scales designated for feeding and bedding cattle. They will observe cattle for sicknesses and treat if needed. They will check pens for freezing water tanks, cleanliness, and health conditions of the animals. Grinding feed, vaccinating, branding, and tagging ears of the animals will need to be done. In the spring of the year, fixing and mending existing fences in the pastures and routine maintenance are needed for grounds and structures. This may include snow removal. Must be able to work independently after given instructions.

Employees must speak, read, write, and understand the English language for record-keeping and safety reasons.
Cell phones are limited to business calls only. No Texting. No smoking or drinking of alcoholic beverages during working hours.

Must have a current driver's license or be capable of obtaining one in 60 days.
Workers must have three months of tractor driving experience equipped with computerized scale monitors for feeding cattle, and experience with cattle. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
