Job description

The employer is seeking reliable, hardworking individuals to assist with the season. Nursery worker/driver will conduct simple daily vehicle maintenance checks, pick up workers from employer-provided housing, take them to the worksite, and drive them back to their housing. They will only spend about ten percent of their workday doing these job duties. Other daily duties may include field walking, timekeeping, filling water jugs for the workers when needed and ensuring field sanitation and safety measures are maintained. They may be asked to assist with inventory, drive and operate spray vehicles, check irrigation and check plants for dryness and diseases (scouting). They may also repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment. These workers' regular daily job duties will also include planting, cultivating and harvesting bare root, ball-and-burlap, and containerized trees and shrubs. They will perform other duties related to nursery production. Workers must possess ability to understand verbal and/or written work instructions and must be able to understand and identify plants by botanical name and apply proper identification tag. They will also take workers once a week to the bank and grocery store. Background check and random drug testing will be post-hire at employer's expense. Applicants must be able to furnish verifiable job reference(s) or comparable third party documentation from recent employer(s) establishing acceptable prior experience. Workers must be available for the entire period requested by the employer.
