Job description
We are seeking seasonal employees to assist with corn, sorghum, rye, millet, and cattle production. Responsibilities include preparing fields for planting; operating and maintaining tractors and farm equipment such as planters, sprayers, combines, and irrigation systems; performing planting, cultivating, spraying, and harvesting activities; loading and unloading materials; and assisting with crop inspection, grading, and storage. Employees will also maintain and repair equipment, facilities, fences, and farm structures, and keep work areas clean. Livestock duties include feeding and watering animals, monitoring health, administering basic care and medications, herding and moving livestock, maintaining pens and grazing areas, and assisting with general animal husbandry tasks as needed. No care is needed during the winter months since our full-time employees are able to handle the job duties. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer's discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer's discretion.
Special Requirements
Must be able to work in extreme outdoor temperatures and perform physical tasks including pushing, pulling, stooping, and bending. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs required. Valid drivers license required. Minimum of one (1) month prior experience required.
