Job description

Prepare, serve, and feed nutritionally balanced snacks and meals for one young child. Dress child or assist with dressing. Engage child in age-appropriate activities including lap play, reading, educational games, arts and crafts, and outdoor play to promote physical and intellectual development. Support at-home educational programs including structured learning activities, reading exercises, and educational curricula as directed by parents. Manage and coordinate the child's daily schedule including educational programs, museum visits, and private lessons. Collaborate with parents to implement routines and guidance programs that encourage desirable behavior. Instruct and assist child in developing healthy personal habits such as eating and hygiene. Model appropriate social behaviors and foster interpersonal and communication skills. Remove potential hazards and establish appropriate boundaries and household rules to ensure a safe environment. Administer first aid when necessary. Observe child's behavior for signs of illness or irregularities, take temperature, and administer medication as directed by parents or medical providers. Perform light housekeeping and cleaning tasks related to the child's care, including tidying play areas, folding laundry, and organizing household areas used by the child. Transport child to activities, social outings, and medical appointments. Shop for groceries, clothing, and other items needed for the child's care. All duties will be performed within a private household setting.

Special Requirements

Basic English skills. High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 6 months of prior experience as a nanny or in a related childcare position required. Must be able to lift and carry weights sufficient to move equipment and material necessary to complete assigned tasks. Must be able to stand and remain active throughout the shift. Use of kitchen appliances and laundry machines. 40 hours per week, 5 days per week. Typical shift is 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Schedule may vary and can include evenings, weekends, or holidays, as needed. Employer will rely on worker's own representations and observations of worker to assess if worker meets the lifting, standing, and other physical ability requirements stated here.
