Job description

Duties may include: Hand plant sugar cane by pulling 3-4 stalks of cane from the back of a cane wagon which is pulled by a tractor. Place rows overlapping with no skip areas, or walking behind an automatic planter and straightening cane stalks in rows and on the end of rows making sure 3-4 canes are planted throughout the row. Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops. Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment. Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures. Clean work areas, and maintain grounds & other related Farm Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org).

Possible weekend/holiday work.

The employer may choose to pay experienced workers, regardless of origin, more than the published minimum wage rate. See attached Addendum C.

Special Requirements

Must be 18 years of age. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 50lbs; may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment. Variable weather conditions may apply. Bonus potential based on work performance at the sole discretion of the employer.
