Job description

Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Duties may vary from time-to-time, and may include all of the following job specifications:

Planting: Plant, transplant, pot, and properly space nursery stock. Perform manual labor outdoors, follow planting specifications, and maintain plant quality.

Prepare Inventory: Prepare planting media, fill containers, and maintain nursery inventory.

Maintain Fields: Water, fertilize, prune, weed, mulch, stake, and maintain nursery plants and sod fields. Maintain healthy crops through irrigation and cultural practices.

Operate Agricultural Equipment: Operate tractors, skid steers, forklifts, utility vehicles, mowers, sod harvesters, and hand tools safely.

Prepare fields and nursery growing areas: Grade, cultivate, spread soil amendments, and install weed barriers.

Load and unload trucks: Load/unload nursery stock, sod, rock, mulch and materials.

Assist with greenhouse and shade house operations: Monitor environmental conditions and maintain crops.

General Farm Labor: Monitor environmental conditions and maintain crops. Perform general farm and nursery maintenance. Clean work areas, repair fences, maintain drainage, organize materials. Follow all safety procedures. Maintain tools/equipment and comply with safety rules. Perform other agricultural duties as assigned. Complete incidental agricultural tasks supporting nursery and sod production.
