Job description
Seasonal Snow Cleaners perform custodial, snow removal, and seasonal cleanup tasks to maintain the safety and cleanliness of commercial or institutional properties. During winter, they manually remove snow and ice from sidewalks and walkways using shovels, handheld blowers, brooms, and walk-behind salt spreaders, and apply de-icing materials to prevent slips. Workers clean indoor areas such as restrooms, lobbies, and common spaces by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and removing trash, and maintain outdoor areas by picking up litter and debris. In addition to winter work, they assist with leaf cleanup in the fall and help restore property conditions after spring storms by removing fallen branches, clearing walkways, and disposing of storm debris. All tasks are performed using manual or walk-behind tools only, with no motorized equipment.
Special Requirements
Work is physically demanding and requires strength, endurance, and agility. Workers must be able to lift and carry heavy loads, operate equipment on icy or uneven ground, and perform tasks like bending, twisting, and shoveling for extended periods. They must also tolerate harsh outdoor conditions, including cold, snow, and wind.
