Job description
Plant, transplant, cultivate, harvest, grade, and pack cabbage by language machine. Pre-harvest activities may include staking, tying, planting, transplanting, weeding, laying plastic, removing plastic, and pruning. Remove weeds from around the plants and from the middle of the rows. Walk through an assigned row while bending and reaching to pick ripe fruit; discard any deformed, decayed, or undersized produce according to the supervisor’s instructions. Carefully remove any undesirable fruit from plants that would later cause disease to attack the plant. Grade and pack by size, weight, color, or condition. Discard inferior or defective products in specified containers. Assemble cartons, crates, and containers using hand tools. Stack boxes onto pallets, transport vehicle, or trailers. Count, load, and unload products and/or materials. Clean and maintain containers, materials, supplies, and work areas. Clean around farms and buildings including pulling weeds and raking. Operate, repair, clean, and maintain farm equipment and vehicles. Workers who possess a valid driver’s license, FLCE (with driving authorizartion) and meet all applicable legal requirements, including holding a doctor’s certificate as required by 29 CFR SS 500.105, may be asked to drive vehicles for transporting workers, goods, or commodities. Workers who drive on behalf of the company maya be offered additional hours. This task is voluntary, compensable, and not a mandatory job duty. Workers without a valid drivers license or doctor’s certificate will still be fully eligible for employment and are not disqualified from any other job responsibilities outlined in this application. The employer can and will make alternative arrangements for the transportation of workers should the need arise.

One month verifiable farm work experience required. Work in extremely hot, cold and/or wet conditions. Walk, bend, sit, reach, stoop, stand, push/pull, perform repetitive movements, and lift and carry 75pounds.
