Job description
Workers will perform duties related to the care and management of livestock, including feeding and watering animals; monitoring and maintaining adequate food and water supplies; and mixing and administering feed, additives, and medications according to prescribed instructions. Employees will examine animals to detect illness, injury, disease, or abnormal weight gain and report concerns as needed. Duties include herding livestock to and from pastures, scales, trucks, or enclosures; rotating animals between grazing areas to ensure proper forage access; and patrolling grazing areas using horseback or ATV. Workers will segregate, mark, and identify livestock for ownership, grading, or condition using brands, tags, paint, or tattoos. Employees may move livestock, equipment, or poultry between locations manually or with vehicles. Additional responsibilities include inspecting, maintaining, and repairing farm equipment, machinery, pens, yards, fences, and buildings to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Special Requirements
Job requires a minimum of three (3) months of prior farm experience. Workers must be able to perform duties in extreme outdoor temperatures and be capable of frequent stooping and bending. The position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Workers must possess a valid, regular drivers license.
