Job description

Operate and inspect machines or heavy farm equipment to diagnose defects or mechanical problems. Maintain, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems. Dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools. Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments, as necessary. Clean and lubricate parts upon reassembly. Test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools. Tune or overhaul engines in preparation for Harvest or planting season. Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, lathes, welding equipment, grinders, or saws. Fabricate new metal parts, using drill presses, engine lathes, and other machine tools. Weld or solder broken parts and structural members, using electric or gas welders and soldering tools. Research, order, and maintain parts inventory for services and repairs. Drive a pickup truck to town to pick up parts and supplies as needed. No CDL Required and no commercial truck driving required.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post hire at employers expense due to the liability of operating equipment. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers' expense due to the presence of children on the farm. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive sitting is required. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
