Job description
Operate stationary equipment such as bale press to perform post-harvest tasks such as ginning; record weights and other identifying information including weight of bale and seed; Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery; Guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines; Rake and clean loose cotton on the yard; Remove plastic wrap from round modules and place plastic in the press as it enters the gin; Drive and control equipment to support agricultural activities such as ginning; Load and unload crops in the field; Drive truck to haul crops to or from gin storage; Adjust, repair, and service trucks; Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions; Adjust, repair, and service machinery and notify supervisors of malfunctions; Daily upkeep and cleaning of equipment while ginning; During times of peak need and depending on weather or crop conditions, hours requested may increase per day; work at night may be requested; Employer may request but cannot require workers to work on their Sabbath. Hours offered may vary based on factors such as weather or other unpredictable variables that impact the farm's operation. (as applicable and per the job description). Assisting with the employer's farming operation includes lifting agricultural tools and equipment that weigh up to the lifting requirement as specified herein.
Special Requirements
Workers must have a valid, insurable Texas Class C or equivalent driver's license (i.e. a standard, noncommercial license) or be eligible to apply for same at no cost to the worker. Will be asked to drive vehicles for transporting workers, goods, or commodities on company business.
