Job description

Job duties include but are not limited to:
Feeding, watering, herding, castrating, branding, weighing, catching, and loading animals
Examining animals to detect diseases and injuries
Assisting in birthing, administering medications, vaccinations, or insecticides
Assist in herding animals to pastures for grazing or to scales, farm trucks or other enclosures
Hauling feed from trailers to animals
Maintaining winter animal housing areas; using diggers, shovels and other equipment needed
Ongoing maintenance includes cleaning, maintaining and repair of equipment, various workshop tasks as well as maintenance of fences, feedlot pens, water tanks, and feed equipment.
Segregating animals according to weight, age, color, and physical condition
Marking livestock to identify ownership and grade using brands, tags, paint, or tattoos
Mixing feed, additives, and medicines in prescribed portions
Moving equipment, poultry, or livestock from one location to another manually or using farm trucks or carts
Use of various farm and cattle specific farming equipment, which includes the operation of feed trucks, payloaders, semi – truck and tractors.
