Job description

Perform duties related to the care of livestock in Missouri. Ensure adequate food source and provide additional feeding station, if necessary. Bring water to grazing areas and replenish water two to three times per day. Monitor cattle for signs of illness, disease, injury, and winter parasites, treat as needed. Monitor livestock during harsh winter weather. Assist with calving, tag newborn calves, and monitor newborns. Mob grazing of cattle on winter cover-crop during winter in Missouri requires close monitoring. May need to drive to town for cattle supplies on occasion.

Special Requirements

This job requires a minimum of 1 month of prior verifiable livestock experience. Job requires having or being able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds. Job will require periods when workers may be exposed to varying weather conditions and extensive sitting or walking. English literacy skills are required. Workers must follow all farm rules and safety requirements. Workers must report to work on time, work the assigned schedule, follow directions, and properly perform all assigned duties. Failure to follow work rules, directions, or safety procedures, or repeated attendance or performance problems, may result in discipline or termination.
