Job description
Job requires receiving crop for drying and storage at grain storage facility; disposing of spoiled grain; transporting grain around grain storage facility and away from facility when necessary; loading and unloading grain into trucks while keeping grain level; operating grain conveying equipment; monitoring grain moisture levels; preparing scale tickets; shoveling grain; performing general maintenance, repairs and/or clean-up of grain storage facility structures and necessary farm equipment; ensuring operational areas are organized and well maintained; using hand tools and equipment to repair, clean and maintain used farm equipment and specialized machinery; and regularly servicing grain storage facility equipment. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or engage in various general functions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
Special Requirements
Basic literacy and math skills required. Applicants must able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Job will require periods when workers may be exposed to varying weather conditions including freezing temperatures and extensive pushing, or pulling. Random criminal background checks may occur post-hire at the employers expense. These checks may be performed to ensure a safe housing and work environment for all workers.
