Job description
Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with John Deere or Trimble GPS) such as combine, cotton picker, KMC peanut digger, Amadas combine, etc. to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as soybeans, corn, cotton; Record information about crops such as pesticide use, yields, or costs; Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops such as working with bins and augers to load carts and trailers; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Set up, repair, maintain, and operate irrigation equipment; Inform farm managers of crop progress; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields, load crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Haul and spread fertilizer and other materials to condition soil; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Attach implements using hand tools. Must speak and understand English.
Special Requirements
Two (2) months of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
