Ag Equipment Operator

Job description

Performs duties like: drive and operate farm machinery such as tractor and grain cart to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. Till soil; plant and cultivate grain. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine and sprayer. Maintain pivot irrigation equipment and motors. General lubrication, service (check fluids) and mechanical repair to farm machinery. Drive grain trucks to transport crops to elevator or storage area.

Equipment: John Deere tractors, combines, sprayers, planters, Irrigation pivots and motors, pickups and trailers, Semi and trailer, Skid steer, forklift, ATV.

Crops: Alfalfa, Corn, Soy Beans, Wheat

Special Requirements

Extensive pushing, pulling, sitting, and walking. Exposure to extreme temperatures. Repetitive movements. Employer requires drug screen post hire at employer's expense due to the liability of driving trucks on public roads. Employer requires criminal background check post hire at employer's expense due to expensive tools and equipment and the presences of children on the farm. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Must be able to lift 60 lbs. Minimum of (3) months experience required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30-90 days of hire. No minimum education required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience.
