Job description
Housekeepers: Duties include: clean and service guest rooms, make beds, clean bathrooms, dust, vacuum, move cots and cribs, restock supplies; perform turn down service as requested and deliver amenities to rooms upon request; will monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas and public areas as well as support and assist other housekeeping staff. Must have 3 months of previous housekeeping experience in a hotel or service industry; must be able to carry at least 35 lbs. up and down stairs. Employer will guarantee minimum H-2B wage rate of $13.20 per hour worked. The H-2B wage will consist of Vermont min. wage, tips and additional employer pay as needed. Overtime hours may be available at a rate of $19.80 per hour. Generally: min. of 35 hours per week, on average 5-8 hours per workday and 5 workdays per week. Weekends and holidays required. Various shifts available but normally 7am-3pm or 2pm-10pm daily. Conditions of employment for H2B and U.S. workers: 1. Transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, if the worker completes half the employment period. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. Daily subsistence will be at least [FY120 rate $12.68] per day during travel to a maximum of [FY20 rate $55.00] per day with receipts. 2. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period. 3. The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. 4. Employer will use a single work week for computing wages starting each Sunday at 1200 am and ending Saturday at 1159 pm and the employee will be paid biweekly. 5. H-2B workers will be reimbursed during the first workweek for subsistence, visa, visa processing and related costs, except passport costs, by company check. 6. Optional, limited dormitory shared rooms available, first come first served while available, for a weekly fee ranging $50-150 (not deducted from payroll). 7. Duty meals available. 8. Employer will make deductions from workers paycheck required by law. 9. Employees with more experience, or returning employees, may be offered a higher wage rate.
