Job description
We need assistance with feeding and caring for our livestock herd. Worker will be performing job duties related to SOC 45-2093 Livestock workers. Job duties will include but not be limited to: Feed and water livestock and monitor food and water supplies. Herd livestock to pastures for grazing or to scales, trucks, or other enclosures. Examine animals to detect illness, injury, or disease, and to check physical characteristics, such as rate of weight gain. Perform duties related to livestock reproduction, such as breeding animals within appropriate timeframes, performing artificial inseminations, and helping with animal births. Mix feed, additives, and medicines in prescribed portions. Drive trucks, tractors, and other equipment to distribute feed and hay to animals. Move equipment or livestock from one location to another, manually or using trucks or carts. Worker may work in extreme temperatures and be exposed to cold elements, breaking ice, moving snow, removing net wrap from bales and other job duties to keep
animals safe. Must speak and understand English.
Special Requirements
Two (2) months of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
