Job description
Logging operations are seasonal and are performed during the fall and winter months, when cypress trees can be safely accessed and harvested. During the spring and
summer, increased water levels and dense foliage render harvesting areas unsafe or inaccessible.
Manage timber. Survey woods/forest, to determine what trees are
available. Plant, transplant, and care for cypress tree seedlings and
saplings, water, fertilize, weed, and mulch trees to promote
healthy growth, prune, trim, and remove damaged or diseased
trees as directed. Assist with harvesting, loading, and transporting trees and related materials.
Operate and maintain farm equipment. Clean/inspect equipment and perform necessary basic maintenance/repair tasks.
Special Requirements
Workers must operate all equipment properly and in a manner
that protects operator, others, the employers products and
property. Failure to comply with safety requirements and
operating instructions may result in disciplinary action up to and
including immediate termination. Must wear steel toe boots.
Must wear assigned personal protective equipment when
required. Must report for work daily wearing work clothing and
boots or other durable foot wear.
