Job description
Duties may include: Attend to cattle. Duties may include feeding, watering, catching and loading. Swath and bale forage for feed. Haul feed and hay. Monitor animal health, process livestock. Assist with shipping/receiving of cattle. Inspect, maintain and repair equipment, machinery, buildings, pens, yards and fences. Maintain/clean shop area. Other general farm labor duties as assigned but not limited to clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping. Or clean stalls, pens and equipment using disinfectant solutions, brushes, water hoses or pumps. One hour lunch break offered & other related Farm Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2093 (onetonline.org). Possible weekend/holiday work. Worker's may be required to work during adverse weather. Example: A snowstorm comes in and the electricity goes out. If the cattle get out workers will be required to help contain the animals for the safety of the animals. Must speak and understand English.
Special Requirements
Be able to work in extreme conditions such as heat, humidity, wind, cold. Lift and carry supplies. Follow instructions. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license within 30 days following hire and obtain clean driving record to be able to operate company vehicle. Lift up to 70 lbs.
