Job description

The seasonal agricultural worker will prepare fields for planting; attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, and harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools; operate tractors, planters, sprayers, seed drills, manure spreaders, combines, irrigation equipment, and other farm machinery; perform planting, weeding, spraying, cultivating, and harvesting activities; fertilize and spray crops by applying fertilizer and pesticide solutions with hand sprayers to control insects, fungus, weeds, and diseases; install, maintain, and repair pivot irrigation systems; observe and listen to machinery during operation to detect malfunctions; and inspect, adjust, maintain, and perform routine repairs on farm equipment and machinery. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion, Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.

Special Requirements

Three (3) months of previous verifiable experience completing these job duties is required. The job requires extensive sitting or walking, frequent stooping or bending, repetitive movements, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. A regular drivers license is required. The employer will conduct post-hire drug testing at no cost to the employee to enforce a drug-free workplace policy; failure to pass a drug test may result in termination. The employer will also conduct post-hire criminal background checks at no cost to the employee and, as permitted by law and consistent with workplace safety policies and company hiring practices, will not employ individuals with felony or theft-related criminal convictions.
