Snow Remover/landscape Laborer

Job description

Perform property maintenance including winter storm and fall cleanup, trash/debris pickup, and snow/ice removal. Use hand or power tools and equipment such as ice picks, shovels, pruners, saws and blowers. As required, use hands to spread salt on walkways and other areas, drive pickup truck or loader with mounted snowplow and/or salt spreading attachments or use hands and shovel to clear snow/ice from sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots. Use shovel for installation of new winter foliage, wintergreen plants and trees, works on the ground using pruners, shears or chainsaws for trimming trees and bushes for winter pruning, uses rake/shovel for fall and winter leaf and debris removal, using hands, shovel, rake for mulch installation for winterizing plants and trees to protect from freezes, drainage control, and winterization and draining of sprinkler systems. Use hand tools to perform routine maintenance and/or minor repairs on equipment.

The employer will offer 35 hours of work per week. Normal schedule Monday-Friday 8:00am-3:30pm. Shift includes a 30-minute unpaid break. Work on Saturdays and Sundays may be required depending on weather conditions and needs of the business.

Employer may increase wage based on experience, changes in market conditions, and/or provide additional pay for performance and tenure.

Overtime may be available. An overtime premium will be paid when required by Federal, State, or local law, including at time-and-a-half after 40 hours in a work week. Generally, when overtime is available it will be paid at $38.12 per hour.

The employer will provide daily transportation from housing to and from the main worksite, and among all worksite locations.

Special Requirements

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to work a 5-day schedule, including weekends and holidays as required.

Must have or be able to obtain a Class C driver's license upon employment.
Possession of a drivers license requires must be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand traffic signs and signals in English.
