Job description
Duties include caring for and managing livestock during the winter season; constructing, moving, maintaining, and removing temporary fencing; moving livestock and temporary shelters as needed; providing daily feed and water; monitoring livestock for illness, parasites, injury, or disease; administering medication and routine care as needed; maintaining shelters, feeders, waterers, fencing, and other livestock facilities; preparing and maintaining livestock areas for winter conditions; providing adequate bedding and shelter during cold weather; monitoring livestock during periods of freezing temperatures and inclement weather; assisting with winter maintenance and preparation of livestock facilities and equipment; and completing the seasonal movement of livestock to and from winter locations as needed. No CDL Required and no commercial truck driving required.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 2 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive walking is required. Repetitive movements is required. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Certain roles may require a valid drivers license within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record for operating company vehicles. Exceptional performance may be rewarded with additional compensation or benefits at the employers discretion.
