Amusement & Recreation Attendant – Traveling Carnival

The refreshments these workers will sell and serve to customers are food items and beverages which are either from a mix (just add water), precooked (just heat to serving temperature) or ready to assemble.

Fountain Drinks:
Equipment used is Beverage Machine and Worker would:
• Using ice scoop, scoop ice into cup.
• Use cup in hand to push lever on beverage machine to dispense beverage into cup.
• Use hand to place lid on cup.
• Use hand to place cup with ice, product and lid on counter to be retrieved by Patron.

Nachos
Commercial sauce warmers bring food items to serving temperature.
Cheese Sauce & Chile are canned.
Tortilla Chips are wrapped in plastic.
Worker would:
• Open can of cheese with can opener and pour it into warmer.
• Open can of chili with can opener and pour it into warmer.
• Open plastic bags of tortilla chips with hands or scissors, and place in tray under heat lamp.
• Assemble the above-mentioned ingredients to prepare the item ordered by patron.
• Place the prepared items on the counter for Patron. Patron can customize with other ingredients from the Kiosk

Corn Dogs:
Corn dogs frozen, pre-battered and pre-skewered.
Worker would:
• Pick up frozen corn dog by skewer and drop into the Deep Fryer.
• Pick up heated corn dog, using tongs, after the Deep Fryer timed cycle ends and Fry basket raises, and place corn dogs into holding tray under heat lamp.
• Pick up corn dog, place in serving tray, place on counter for customer to retrieve and customize with condiments from the kiosk.

Cotton Candy:
Equipment used: Cotton Candy Machine.
Products used: Sugar, flossine (coloring), paper cone, plastic bag.
Worker would:
• Switch on Cotton Candy Machine, and wait for it to heat to the proper temperature.
• Slowly pour mixture of sugar and flossine into the center heating element, while simultaneously slowly spinning the paper cone in the basket to collect and shape the cotton candy, until the product reaches the proper size.
• Place the cotton candy on the cone into a plastic bag and secure the bag by tying it.
• Place the cotton candy on the counter for the patron to retrieve

Perform a variety of duties at traveling carnival, assembling, disassembling & operating equipment (amusement rides, game and/or food concessions) May sell tickets & collect fees from customers; provide information about the facilities, rules and regulations; direct patrons to rides, seats or attractions; monitor activities to ensure adherence to rules and safety procedures; provide assistance to patrons entering or exiting amusement rides; clean rides, booths, facilities or grounds; inspect equipment to detect wear and damage and perform minor repairs, adjustments, or maintenance tasks, such as oiling parts; fasten safety devices for patrons, or provide them with directions for fastening devices; announce or describe amusement attractions to patrons to entice customers to games and/or other entertainment; and sell and serve refreshments to customers.

Special Requirements

Post-employment random drug testing and background checks may be required, at no cost to the worker. The job requires the applicant to be qualified, ready, willing, able, and available to perform during the entire employment at the designated worksites; and to follow workplace rules.
