Job description
Maintain, repair and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems. Dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools. Record details of repairs made and parts used. Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments, as necessary. Clean and lubricate parts. Test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools. Tune or overhaul engines. Examine and listen to equipment to locate and diagnose malfunctions. Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, milling and woodworking machines, lathes, welding equipment, grinders, or saws. Repair bent or torn sheet metal.
Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday. Drivers in the U.S. must read and speak English well enough to understand traffic signs, talk with the public, respond to official questions, and fill out work records under 49 CFR 391.11(b)(2).
Special Requirements
Minimum of 12 months of related experience is required. Worker must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds and will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase based on verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed in the job order at the employer's sole discretion. Operator License Class D required. The selected candidate will have 60 days to obtain the required license. Skill Level II, Experienced Level. The employer designates this position as Skill Level II based on the experience and qualifications required for the job opportunity.
