Job description
All animal waste generating in our hog operation is utilized as organic fertilizer for our corn production operation. The manure generated throughout the year is applied to crop fields once or twice a year according to strict application and utilization plans. Manure is applied in the fall from late September through December when crops are removed and the ground is not frozen. In the spring, application occurs in late March through June before the corn is planted. Additional seasonal help is needed for this labor-intensive part of our production cycle. Laborers are responsible for preparing, maintaining, cleaning and operating all machinery and equipment used for the handling of the manure. Liquid slurry manure is pumped into tanker applicators to be applied directly to crop fields or is pumped through an umbilical hose system utilizing pumps, tractors and hoses to move the manure to the crop fields. Laborers may need to be proficient in tractor and pump operations. Some manure requires truck transportation so a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) may be necessary. Employees must be mechanically inclined and be able to stand, sit and stoop for like periods of time. Equipment operated may include: ATV, pickup, truck, semi-truck, or tractor. Washing and disinfecting at the facilities where manure is removed may also be completed. Three (3) months of experience using a manure spreader is required.

Post employment drug test is paid for by employer. Employee needs to have a CDL.
