Job description
Perform manual labor to landscape or maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. Mow, lay sod, trim, rake, prune, plant, and dig. Operate powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chain-saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws. Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge and brush trimmers, and axes. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Mow and edge/trim lawns and trees, using power mowers and edgers. Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing and removing thatch, and trimming and edging around flower beds, walks, and walls. Follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers and foliage. Lay sod. Haul or spread topsoil, and spread straw over seeded soil to hold soil in place. Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws. Attach wires from planted trees to support stakes. Gather and remove litter. Workers with a valid driver's license may transport employees between worksites in employer provided vehicles. These jobs involve landscaping and maintaining grounds of property.
Special Requirements
Must lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Requires physical stamina. Work outdoors, in extreme temperatures, and adverse weather. No education or experience required.
