General Farmworker

Job description

Performs duties like: drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. Till soil; plant and cultivate grain. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine. General lubrication, service (check fluids) and mechanical repair to farm machinery. Drive grain trucks to transport crops to elevator or storage area. Tend to livestock.

Equipment: John Deere Tractors; combines; planters and air seeders. Peterbilt semi trucks and pickup trucks. Miscellaneous other farm equipment. Lawn mowers (riding). Bobcat loader.

Crops: Alfalfa; Corn; Rye; Wheat and Soy Beans

Special Requirements

Employer requires drug screen post hire at employer's expense due to the liability of driving trucks and heavy equipment on public roads. Employer requires criminal background check post hire at employer's expense due to expensive tools and equipment on the farm. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Exposure to extreme temperatures. Extensive sitting and walking. Frequent stooping. Repetitive movements. Must be able to lift 60 lbs. Minimum of (3) months experience required. Must be able to obtain a valid driver's license within 30 days of hire. No minimum education required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
