Job description
Clean, scrape, wire brush, pressure wash, or abrasive blast surfaces in preparation for water tank painting. Mix paint, rig, erect, or move manual, pneumatic, or electric power operated scaffolding and staging. Apply under and finish coats with brush, roller, or spray equipment. Operate and maintain mechanical equipment used to rig, clean, and paint structural water towers. Use tools and equipment needed in erecting and moving heavy scaffolds and scaffold machines related to water tower painting and maintenance. Cooperate and communicate with the Foreman and other water tank maintenance crew members to ensure safety. Use equipment related to water tower painting such as air compressors, paint pumps, pressure washers, sandblast pots, paint guns, and automatic sandblast controls. Regular travel to worksite locations throughout Northeast, Northwest, Southeast and Southwest Mississippi and Jackson MS metropolitan and nonmetropolitan areas. Each worker will receive a one hour lunch break each day.
We will provide all tools, supplies and equipment required to perform the job without charge. We will reimburse each employee for transportation expenses in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations, reimbursing each employee no later than halfway though the employment period. We will help each employee find local rental housing and will pay each employee weekly. We will provide transit to and from the job sites (worksite locations) free of charge. We will reimburse H-2B workers in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker, excluding passport expenses and other charges primarily for the benefit of the worker. We will advance each employee's return transportation costs and daily subsistence from our headquarters in West Point, Mississippi to the place from which the worker, disregarding intervening employment, departed to work for us, if the worker completes the certified period of employment or is dismissed from employment for any reason by the employer before the end of the period, consistent with 655.20(j)(1)(ii). We will use a single workweek as our standard for computing wages due and we will make all deductions from the workers paycheck required by law. We will not make any deductions not required by law.
Special Requirements
Workers must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds including while climbing stairs. Able to work, with continuous water breaks and breathing apparatus, in an enclosed space where air temperature can reach over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Able to work at a height of 250 feet or more with safety equipment.
