Job description

GENRAL LABOR: Worker will be responsible for general repairs, maintenance and cleaning of farm equipment, irrigation on the farm, and farm housing. Worker will repair farm equipment using shop tools such as a wrench, torch, power saw, air impact, and welding equipment. Additional training will be provided for these tasks. Shop tools will be provided by employer. Worker will be required to lift 70 pounds. Worker will operate a forklift and assist in unloading, loading or moving of bins.
1. Tractor Driving: Worker may be required to operate a tractor and engage in general tractor work, including but not limited to transporting, pulling, pushing, tillage and the loading and unloading of product. Worker will be required to apply pesticides via tractor and sprayer under supervision of licensed supervisor and after receiving appropriate training.
2. Bus/Truck driving: If worker is eligible to drive under Michigan law and provides proof of no infraction from official source, Employer may require worker to drive in Employer-provided vehicle to and from the worksite and to locations within 30 miles as directed. To be eligible for driving jobs, worker must understand and agree to driving rules, as outlined in work rules below.
3. Trailer driving: If worker is eligible to drive under Michigan law and provides proof of no infractions from official source, Employer may require worker to transport trailers to and from worksites and to locations within a 30 mile radius. Worker will move trailers throughout field/loading area to allow harvest crew to put harvested product on trailer. Each time harvester brings up full bucket of product, worker must give workers badge a single electronic beep. Worker must also inspect for product not meeting quality standards as specified in this document and report to supervisor. To be eligible for driving jobs, worker must understand and agree to driving rules, as outlined in work rules below.
Pay will be hourly.
MACHINE GRAIN HARVEST: Worker will be required to transport harvested grain to and from fields in tractors pulling wagons as directed by supervisor. Worker will load and unload harvested grain as directed by supervisor. Worker must be eligible to drive under Michigan law and provide proof of no infractions. Worker will be required to transport grain trailers, to and from worksites and across state lines within a 100 mile radius. To be eligible for driving jobs, worker must understand and agree to driving rules, as outlined in work rules below. Worker must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Pay will be hourly.

Special Requirements

3 months verifiable experience to include commercial agriculture equipment operation of 200 horsepower or more. Applicants must furnish job references from employers of the last 5 years establishing acceptable prior experience.
Applicants must posses a valid commercial driver license under Michigan law.

Drug testing not utilized as pre-employment tool. See work rule #9 for more information regarding post-employment drug testing.

Season Commitment: Job offered requires worker be available for and worker agrees to work every day that work is available for entire employment period.

Worker must be able to perform job description duties in safe manner consistent with established safety procedures.
