Job description

Performs duties like: drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest, and store corn and alfalfa. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc, and drill to tractor. Till soil; plant and cultivate crops. Use a chisel, disc, roller harrow, and other cultivation tools. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine and tractors with auto-steer GPS technology. Utilize truck, corn chopper, and packing tractor to harvest corn. Swath, rake and bale hay. Move bales. Prep corn for flood irrigation. Lay gated pipe, pull head ditches, and set and run siphon tubes and gated pipe to ensure proper irrigation. Operate 3pt sprayer to perform weed control. Drive grain trucks to transport crops to elevator or storage area. Operate and conduct maintenance and repairs to center pivot for proper water application. Perform a variety of duties such as lubricating and preparing farm machinery and equipment. Workers may need to perform general maintenance and minor repairs including welding, greasing, and changing oil and filters.

Special Requirements

Must be able to lift 60 lbs. Minimum of (1) month experience required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30-90 days of hire. No minimum education required.
