Job description

Employee will be involved in most aspects of organic diversified vegetable production. Field preparation, seedling maintenance in greenhouse and transplanting in field, mechanical and manual cultivation/weeding in field and production greenhouses. Harvesting, washing and packing produce for distribution. Pruning and trellising greenhouse tomatoes.
Fertility and sanitation management in blueberries and small orchard. Deep mulching of bushes. Fruit harvest.
Daily rotation of pastured poultry. Care and feeding of laying hen flock and meat chicken groups. Egg collection, cleaning and packing. On-farm chicken processing (6-8 days in entire growing season-- 500-600 meat birds total/year).
Basic Tractor operation.
Set up and moving irrigation pipe/systems.

Special Requirements

Basic Horticultural knowledge.
Driving vehicles with manual transmission.
Ability to work in adverse and diverse weather conditions.
Ability to work early in the morning, work long days if necessary, work on weekends and holidays.
Keep with a task that may be repetitive and require endurance and efficiencies
