General Laborer

Job description

Supplement workers already in place by performing physical labor activities at construction sites. Assist coating sprayers by performing duties requiring less skill. Use, supply, or hold materials or tools and clean work area and equipment. Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. May operate hand and power tools of various types such as chipping hammers, earth tampers, and a variety of other small equipment. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, and clean up debris and other waste materials. Safely operate company equipment, help with light maintenance and cleaning, and perform tasks as directed by supervisor or crew leader in a safe and timely manner. Support all areas of business as determined by supervisor and perform home division work on interior of homes during inclement weather.

While performing the duties of this job, the temporary worker is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is often required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk and hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move heavy objects. Vision abilities pertaining to this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee will often encounter wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate to loud.

Special Requirements

Position requires one-month related experience or training. The position also requires the ability to lift and carry 75 lbs. for 75 yards. Workers may be required to submit to random drug or alcohol tests at no cost to the worker. Failure to comply with the request or testing positive may result in immediate termination. All testing will occur post-hire and is not part of the interview process. Negative results may be required post-hire and before commencing work.
