Workers will also perform manual labor including hand harvest of a wide variety of vegetables (and strawberries) using knives, shears and other tools, hand weeding, crop thinning, transplanting, seeding, tomato trellising and irrigation setting. Care must be taken to prevent damage to machinery at all times and to crops during harvest and post harvest operations. Workers may participate in packinghouse duties including washing, sorting, boxing, weighing, palletizing and loading trucks with produce. Field temperatures range from 10 to 100 degrees F. Work continues in rain and snow. Rain gear is provided.
Smoking is not allowed on the farm. Random drug testing may be required post hire at employer's expense. Employer retains the right to discharge an obviously unqualified worker, malingerer or recalcitrant worker who is physically able but does not demonstrate the willingness to perform the work necessary for the employer to grow a premium quality product.

The job requires a minimum of 3 months prior experience working on a diversified crop farm handling both manual and machine tasks with commodity production and harvest activities. Persons seeking employment as experienced farm workers must be available for the entire period requested by the employer.

Work schedule is Monday through Friday: 7:00 am to 12:00pm *(1 hour lunch); and 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Saturday: 7:00 am to 12:00pm noon. Schedule may vary due to weather and crop conditions. Actual hours worked can vary throughout the season - during peak periods the hours worked can be higher.
