Job description
Field Supervisor:
Workers will provide supervision to crew members in the farm laborer/hand harvester positions.
Workers will be assigned to harvest team members during harvest season.
Workers will be required to track time of farm laborers/hand harvesters and report any worker absences or separations from employment immediately.
Workers will be responsible for providing harvest team members with necessary water supply, and work tools.
Workers may be required to assist harvesters in the completion of the harvest.
Workers may be required to operate farm vehicles to move between fields and blocks.
Workers will be required to communicate with other supervisors and farm management.
Workers will supervise the following activities: watermelon cutters, loaders, unloaders.
Workers will be required to obtain FLCE Driver authorized registrations to drive and transport workers under Double J Harvesting, Inc. FLC License. Employer will require worker to drive in Employer-provided vehicles to and from the worksites. Workers must have a valid CDL or equivalent license. Worker must understand and agree to driving rules.
Special Requirements
Because the supervisor will be required to conform to DOT regulations when driving workers to and from work, the required drug screen will be performed as part of the pre-employment process and will be at the employer's expense. A negative drug test result must be received before a CDL driver may operate a commercial motor vehicle.
The majority of the workday is spent on ones feet and outdoors. Workers rarely stand in one place for any period of time. Workers must be able to stand, sit, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, bend (from the waist), push, pull, reach, lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds in the course of performing required activities. Work is performed in outdoor agricultural fields and involves exposure to sun, wind, rain, soil, mud, dust, heat, cold and other natural elements. Worker must be able to withstand working in the direct sunlight, and weather conditions ranging from hot and humid weather, moderate rain and cold while performing their required job duties.
