Job description

Performs duties like: drive and operate farm machinery to plant, harvest and store grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. Till soil; plant grain. Spraying of crops. Swathing and baling of forage crops. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine. General lubrication, service (check fluids) and mechanical repair to farm machinery. Drive grain trucks to transport crops to elevator or storage area. Planting winter wheat. Winterize equipment for season wrap up.

Equipment: The main types of equipment used on our farm is John Deere 9570R Tractor; John Deere 9630 Tractor; John Deere 4840 Tractor; John; Deere 7530 Tractor; John Deere 4930 Sprayer; John Deere T670 Combine; Peterbilt Semi Trucks; John Deere 4895 Swather; John Deere; 569 Baler; 544K Pay loader

Crops: Durum; Barley; Grain; Hay; Oats; Wheat; Safflower

Special Requirements

Employer requires drug screen post hire at employer's expense due to the liability of driving trucks on public roads. Employer requires criminal background check post hire at employer's expense due to the expensive tools and equipment and the presence of children on the farm. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Must be able to lift 60 lbs. Minimum of (3) months experience required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30-90 days of hire. No minimum education required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience.
