Job description
GREENHOUSE:
Workers may seed plant trays.
Workers may clean and wash plant trays.
Workers may apply water and fertilizers to plants in trays.
Workers may clip and mow plants.
Workers may load plant trays onto trucks and wagons.
HORTICULTURAL/NURSERY, MUMS, ANNUALS, PERINNIALS & SPECIALTY PLANTS
Workers may seed plant trays, water, pull weeds from trays.
Workers may clean greenhouse area.
Workers may water and apply fertilizers to trays.
Workers may set, plant and transplant, trees and shrubs.
Workers may clip & prune nursery stock.
Workers may separate plants, ball and wrap or pot.
Workers may load and unload from trucks or wagons for shipping.
Workers may work and prepare ground for next crop.
Workers may discard and remove old stock from pots or fields.
Workers may clean work area for next days work.
Alternative Work:
This could include workers preparing barns, preparing land for planting, draining fields, maintenance of tools and equipment, and other work that is directly related to growing crop and activities for which the worker was hired. Such work will be offered when climate or crop conditions preclude working in the primary activities stated above. Alternative work may only be required if the first week wage guarantee listed in 20 CFR 653.501 is invoked.
Special Requirements
WORKERS SHOULD BE ABLE TO STAND, WALK, BEND & STOOP, ALSO LIFT 60-80 LBS UP TO 4 FT. FOR EXTENDED PERIODS.
WORKERS MAY BE SUBJECT TO RANDOM DRUG TESTS AT EMPLOYERS COST, POST EMPLOYMENT
WORKERS WILL BE TRAINNED FOR 16 HOURS, AT WHICH TIME THEY WILL BE EXPECTED TO PERFORM ALL JOB DUTIES LISTED, IN A EFFECTIVE TIME MANNER. 3 MONTHS NURSERY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
