Job description

This job encompasses harvesting of apples as well thinning, pruning, and training by the worker. The worker will perform duties from the ground and/or utilizing a ladder.

The worker must possess the ability to pick up and handle a 10-12 ft orchard ladder weighing up to 60 Ibs

The anticipated hours listed represent the normal work schedule. Due to the nature of these crops, weather, and the requirement to send crops to customers when needed, it is the prevailing practice to work more or different hours than those listed. When the number of hours for a week exceeds the number listed, the worker may be offered, but not required, to work more hours. Saturday work may be required. Employer-paid drug test is required if a worker has an accident at work.

Field work begins at assigned time shortly after daylight. Work may be performed during rain, light snow, cold, freezing temperatures and/or in high humidity and in temperatures over a 100 degrees F. Worker may be required to work in fields when crops are wet with dew/rain and should have suitable clothing for variable weather conditions.

Special Requirements

This position requires 3 months general farm labor experience.
