Job description
The Field Harvest Worker will be responsible for manually cultivating, harvesting, packing, and maintaining coffee
cherries with an expectation of a minimum of 25 pounds per hour under the instruction of a supervisor/team leader
in a safe and efficient manner. Responsible for tracking and recording completed work as directed. Pack harvested coffee cherries into baskets and bags up to 50 pounds for loading into trucks to be sent to market or storage facilities. Adhere to all food safety practices in daily work. Provide care for plants including pruning, identifying pests, application of pesticides and fertilizers, weeding, tying, thinning, and tucking as instructed by supervisor/team leader. Safely and responsibly utilize hand tools including trowels, hoes, pruning shears, and loppers. Inform supervisor/team leader of harvesting progress and performance of other duties as assigned. Minimum requirements to perform the position are good health condition to perform any field labor activities, no limitation to bend down or carry weight (under regulated laws or norms of weight and safety procedures). Understand English or Spanish, follow instructions correctly, have ability to work and/or stand for long periods of time and work as a team, and no vices like drugs or alcohol problems. Exposure to extreme temp, repetitive movements, extensive pushing, pulling walking and frequent stooping Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs frequently
