Job description
Performs any of the following tasks to attend to livestock: Maintain heated watering system. Operate snow removal equipment in order to operate feed wagons. Operate manure truck. Operate feed truck, feed wagon, loader tractor, pay-loader, skid steer, and box scrapper. Gathering, processing, and distributing the feed for the cattle. Mix feed and additives, fill feed troughs with feed and water for livestock; remove ice formed in water. Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries. Vaccinate animals by placing vaccine in drinking water or feed using syringes and hypodermic needles. Apply medications to cuts and bruises, spray livestock with insecticide. Processing calves as they come into the feed lot. Keep feeding area free of debris and manure. Reading ration sheets. Knowledge of loading and unloading cattle from semi-trailers. Clean livestock stalls and sheds using disinfectant solutions, brushes and shovels. Maintain buildings. Maintain breeding, feeding and cost records.
Equipment: Pick up trucks, John Deer Tractors, tandem axel truck
Livestock: Beef Cattle
Special Requirements
Minimum three (3) months experience. Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Exposure to extreme temperatures. Basic literacy and arithmetic requirement. No minimum education required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
