Job description

There are general conditions of employment, general job specifications and individual requirements that are specific to each job duty.

Truck Driver must be able to speak, read, and understand English well enough to fill out daily paperwork, understand load sheets, and follow instructions.

This Hop Harvest Truck Driver Job requires the ability by the workers to drive and back a tractor-trailer combination.
Class 8 Tractor/Trailer with a nine and ten-speed transmission, 42 and 48-foot flatbed trailers.
Intrastate day trips.
Loads hop bales with a forklift onto the flatbed trailer.
Manually arrange hop bales and tie-down hop bales with straps
Drive hops to Hop Brokers and understand some English to converse with the broker.

Other Duties as Assigned:
All other duties assigned under this order will be those duties of Heavy and Tractor-Trailer Truck Drivers under the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment Statistics Standard Occupational Classification Code 53-3032.

The Employer attests that all workers will be properly trained in the Worker Protections Standard (WPS) by qualified WPS trainers who have completed an EPA-approved Train-the-Trainer course pursuant to the Oregon Department of Agriculture.

Special Requirements

B2 Drivers must have 6 months of experience driving tractor-trailer combinations.
B4a Truck Drivers must possess a US Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or a Licencia Federal de Conductor (LFC) license.
B4b Must be able to drive and manage freeway and city traffic without difficulty.
* Must know to stop and how to handle the paperwork at all mandated State scale checkpoints.
* Must be able to drive a manual transmission.

Truck Drivers are subject to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

4e) Must be able to lift and/or load 60lbs continuously.
4g) Work may take place when temperatures are below freezing and above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
4h) May require extensive pulling and/or pushing.
4i) May require workers to sit and/or walk for extended periods of time.
4j) Workers will be required to stoop and/or bend over.
4k) There will be repetitive movements while performing most of the Truck Driver/Equipment Operator duties.
