Job description

Performs duties like: drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store pecans and peanuts. Drive tractor with different attachments such as mowers and pull behind sprayers. Must be able to mix spray chemicals correctly. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. Till soil. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine. You will be required to learn to operate a pecan shaker, pecan harvester, pecan sweeper. General lubrication, service (check fluids) and mechanical repair to farm machinery. Drive trucks to transport crops to storage area. There will be some fixing drip irrigation on orchard trees. There will be manual removal of small sticks and limbs from orchard.

Special Requirements

Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Minimum of (3) months experience required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30-90 days of hire. No minimum education required. Exposure to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. O/T Holiday is not mandatory. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Employer requires a drug screening post hire at employers expense due to driving heavy trucks and equipment on public roads. Employer requires a criminal background check post hire at employers expense due to expensive tools and equipment on the farm. Failure to pass a drug screening and/or a criminal background check will result in termination of employment.
