Job description
Duties required: hothouse/greenhouse tomato crop work in all stages. This includes cleaning, removing stems, cleaning end crop plants, removing any crop leftovers, washing structure, disinfecting area for planting, nursing new plants, tying, pruning, leafing, harvesting, and packing, as well as general farm labor. This will be done under extreme weather conditions. Heavy bending, stooping and lifting will be involved on a daily basis.
The employer will provide the tools necessary to perform the described job duties without charge to the worker. The employer will charge to the workers for reasonable costs related to the worker's refusal or negligent failure to return the tools or due to such worker's willful damage or destruction of the tools.
Eight (8) hours per day, Monday through Friday and five (5) hours on Saturday is normal, however, the worker may be requested but not required to work additional hours per day and the Sabbath and/or federal holidays and Sunday depending upon the conditions of the crop, maturity of the crop and market conditions. All workers will be required to take an uninterrupted lunch break of at least a half hour in order to rest and eat their meal.
