Job description

Agricultural Produce Delivery and Field Sanitation to perform the following duties in field and on the farm:

Agricultural Produce Delivery Workers (Truck Drivers): Drive large Semi Trucks (26,000 pounds or higher) and be required to pick up loaded trailers with parsley, cilantro, beets, leeks, radish, bok choy, napa, spring-mix, kale, cabbage, fennel spinach and mix lettuce in the field and deliver to customers. Truck drivers will pick up supplies from vendors and deliver to the field. Truck drivers will load harvest equipment and move from field to field. This activity is secondary agriculture under the Fair Labor Standards Act as it is in conjunction with and incidental to Sabor Farms farming operations.

In the yard, Truck Drivers will;

1. Conduct daily pre-trip inspection on vehicle and document/report maintenance needs
2. Fuel Semi-Truck
3. Clean and wash truck as needed

In the fields, Truck Driver will:

1. Secure loads in the field
2. Transport parsley, cilantro, beets, leeks, radish, bok choy, napa, spring-mix, kale, cabbage, fennel spinach and mix lettuce from fields to customers
3. Un-tie loads, remove v-bords and tarps upon delivery
4. Drive a tractor trailer and back up to loading docks.
5. Transport equipment to and from Sabor Farms Shop located at 1375 Burton Ave Salinas, CA 93901 to the Sabor Farms Shop located at 1750 E 20th St Yuma, AZ 85365 on lowboy. This activity will occur occasionally and as needed.

Truck Drivers may also transport employees to store, bank, doctor, hospital, and any other place considered necessary by Sabor Farms.

Truck drivers will also deliver parsley, cilantro, beets, leeks, radish, bok choy, napa, spring-mix, kale, cabbage, fennel spinach and mix lettuce to storage/packing facilities. This activity is also secondary agriculture under the Fair Labor Standards Act as it is in conjunction with and incidental to Sabor Farms farming operations. Sabor Farms plants, harvests, and owns the crop that is transported from the fields to the shed and customer sites.

Sanitation workers will wash harvest equipment and sanitize daily. Sanitation Workers will also be required to drive large Semi Trucks (26,000 pounds or higher).

In the yard, Sanitation workers will perform the following duties;

1. Conduct daily pre-trip inspection on vehicles used to transport farm crops and documents/reports maintenance needs of such vehicles
2. Fuel vehicle
3. Fill up tanks with water, soap and chlorine in the vehicle and trailers

In the fields, Sanitation workers will perform the following duties:

1. Use pressure washer to remove dirt and foreign matter
2. Scrub machines
3. Rinse
4. Sanitize with chlorine

Sanitation work is secondary agriculture under the Fair Labor Standards Act as it is directly in conjunction with and incidental to Sabor Farms own farming operations.

Special Requirements

All 16 requested workers are required to possess a US Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or foreign equivalent, one year experience as a truck driver, of which at least one month should include driving large Semi Trucks (26,000 pounds or higher). Specific requirements include lifting to 50 pounds. Work involves extensive sitting and walking, working in bent or stooped positions, extensive sitting and/or walking, and repetitive movements.
