Job description
Performs any of the following tasks to attend to livestock: Clean and prepare livestock pens and water fountains; Receive and process cattle when delivered; Prepare and feed cattle a special receiving ration 2 times a day for 1 week; Walk pens 4 times a day checking cattle for sick cattle. Remove sick cattle, treat with prescribed medicine; Starting week 2, pens are walked daily the rest of the feeding period; Feed ingredients are removed from storage daily and mixed and fed to the cattle 2 times a day the entire feeding period; Feed bunks are cleaned daily; ln the event of snow, the snow is removed from feed bunks as needed; Fresh straw is placed in cattle pens for dry bedding.
Special Requirements
Must be able to lift a 60 pounds. Minimum of one (1) month experience required. Exposure to extreme temperatures. No minimum education required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience.
